An Unusual Sprint

Kristins_KrusadeI told Stacy yes, eager to help out on this brisk sunny day.

Little did I know that it would be a bone chilling 3 hour meet.

In memory of Kristen Mitchell, and in honor of Kristin's Krusade, on      St. Joe's track, a domestic violence fundraiser was about to start.

Droves of students lined the track warming up, and bending their legs to loosen up.

Hopping from foot to foot not trying to build muscle or even tone up.

I was just trying to keep my shivering body from shaking so much.

Suddenly, I see bodies in motion swiftly lunging around the track when a gust of wind

Hits me on by back sending my legs into a jerky pace, and me sprinting to keep those darn brochures from flying away.

Oh what a feat in keeping Laurel House pamphlets on the table and not under the runners' feet.

All for a good cause I might say as I'll always remember that bone shaking spring of a day.
