On any given day at Laurel House...
- Counselor Advocates work with women and children living in shelter to discuss their "next steps",
- Volunteer Advocates answer hotline calls,
- DART II advocates respond to a police department to meet with a victim who has just experience an assault,
- DART advocates go to hospital emergency rooms to help domestic violence victims,
- Transitional Housing Advocates help women and children to achieve self-sufficiency,
- Children's Advocates assist children and families to move beyond abuse,
- Legal Advocates provide court accompaniment,
- Community Educators offer a variety of presentations on domestic violence awareness and resources,
- Trained counselors facilitate support groups where victims and survivors share their stories.
