Medical Advocacy Project/DART I
medicalRecognizing that health care professionals are often the first point of contact for domestic violence victims, Laurel House operates the Medical Advocacy Project, known as DART I (Domestic Abuse Response Team).  A full-time Medical Advocate trains physicians and nurses to recognize the signs of domestic abuse, provides on-site support when available to victims  at local hospitals, and has developed
resource materials which are used by hospitals and health care providers when they are dealing with victims of domestic violence.
