Programs to Schools

Domestic violence can happen to anyone of any race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or age. That is why we at Laurel House have developed presentations for middle schools, high schools and colleges throughout the Montgomery County. It is important for students of all ages to be able to recognize the warning signs of abuse and have the resources needed to help themselves and others.

NO ONE DESERVES TO BE ABUSED

Laurel House programs for schools provide healthly relationship and Dating Violence curriculum to Middle Schools, High Schools and Colleges.The programs offered arev interactive, stimulating and fun...but most importantly...INFORMATIVE. Each session involves interactive games and activities which elicit the students participation with the presentation.

Each curriculum is age appropriate and developed to educate students on building safe and healthy dating relationships. The curriculum also addresses what students can do to assist a friend or family member that they suspect is in an abusive relationship.

Last year 4,321 students in Montgomery County were educated on the topic of healthy relationships and Dating Violence through this program. In addition, Laurel House hosted the 2nd annual Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Poster Contest. To learn more about it or see past winners click here.

Each day we are adding additional schools to our list mentioned above. If you are interested in having someone from Laurel House conduct a program at your school, please complete the request form. Laurel House will contact you within a few days of receipt of the request.
